Barbarian and still a sage renowned,
Brave warrior without a wisp of wound,
Woman, drinking at will
And so virtuous still,
These, O king, command none my trust sound.

The transliteration of the subhāśhita is given below:

barbarah cha tapasvī syātshurah cha api akŗta vŗņah |
madyapā strī satīrājan na iti shradaddhāmahe ||

barbarah: a barbarian, wild man; cha tapasvī: and a man of austerity and penance, a sage
syāt: be, is; shūrah: a brave warrior, man of valour; cha api: and even; akŗta vŗņah:without a wound, or who has not wounded (a foe): madyapā strī: a drunkard woman, one with the habit of drinking; satī: (who is)a woman of virtue; rājan: O King; na iti: that does not; nu: really, indeed; shradaddhāmahe: inspires faith, belief, credulity, confidence.
