Words Well Worth 15: Half Done Is Whole Headache

Debt long unsettled, undampened fire,
Unfinished foe fuelling hate so dire,
Proving perpetual pain
They'd swell time and again,
Leave notso hanging that might long ire.

rūņa-sheśhah: left-over debt, balance of unsettled debt; cha: and; agni-sheśhah: left-over fire, the fire not fully extinguished; shatru-sheśhah: foe not finished off; tathā eva cha: and in the same way indeed; punah punah: time and again; pravartante: prevail, recur, flare up; tasmāt: therefore, hence; sheśham: balance, things left out, not fully completed; na rakśhayet: should never be left/preserved.

Far away on a holiday, humm.., living behind fire in some minds... not good as this verse says. But be careful, 'nice' is now acquiring rather a neutral if not negative undertone in meaning.

Debt or runa is more dangerous than fire or foe. We must finish the end of all these. Well translated of sloka from Mahabharat.
