Words Comments

I clicked on this poem called WORDS after reading THE HEART IS A STRANGE THING expecting a contrasting viewpoint, and such was the case. This poem shows people misusing words, words as weapons, in a competitive society that has no sense of community. I admire your HEART poem because you expressed idealism and community persuasively, but without sentimentality, and it reveals one face of truth. This poem is truth's other face - it's not pretty, it doesn't convey hope, it doesn't make us feel good. And a true poet will show both faces of truth, and that's what you have done.
