WOW! This poem is a psychodrama and the ending offers no easy closure. There is a burden of suffering which the speaker apparently must endure. She can't escape it, and it won't be lifted from her. But I hope I'm right in seeing her as a worthy person who accepts what is imposed without bitterness or anger. She is going through the refiner's fire - that phrase is from Handel's Messiah - and will surely be cleansed and renewed. But you show the suffering is very real and very painful. Must it be so?

A poignant tale, beautifully expressed. I think that one has to experience such loss to be able to describe it so vividly. Another lovely poem.

Sorry for the lost love...but guess nothing is as therapeutic as throwing those words out there..it helps to relieve, just as it is helping me through my own dance as well..
