Once I dreamt a wondrous dream
As naïve young boy, sweet and innocent
Glimpsed beyond distant mountain range
Saw Promised Land of milk and honey
Where freedom and goodness reign supreme
Love is each soul's strength and purpose.
Once I dreamt a wondrous dream
As questing youth finding way in life
Coming to understand God's magnificence
His eternal love for the children of Adam,
Discovering Jesus Christ the shield against evil.
Followed his teachings recorded in the bible
Embraced the light denying the darkness
With faith's my guide to Heaven's gate.
