Wonder Poem by Alexander Thomas

Wonder

I wondered on things…
On all the gifts the tide brings
And all the songs the wind sings,
My thoughts spread their wings…

Meditating on life and time,
On all that is sublime,
On the sun and the moon,
On the drifting sand dune,

I wondered on immensity,
I wandered in search of the fabled city,
I wondered about all the sights to see,
I wandered careless and free,

Fate's colourful yarn unravels,
As I venture on my travels,
To go within and without,
The holy mountain to surmount,

Oh I wondered on things…
Twining together sacred strings,
Moved by the heart's whims,
And again a new day begins…
