Love is humble, pure, unconditional and so beautiful as it takes the person to a heightened level of joy and serenity to know this is to be aware of the wolves and to ignore them, avoid them and to know they represent arrogance and their ruthless need to conquer a woman! Great write, a tribute to the truth of love!
In their vanity and pride! To ride along with their tricks. Thanks for sharing.
There seems to be a sudden shift in this poem. The speaker is confronted by wolves that must be hungry and it seems like she has surrendered to her fate. Then the poem shifts to imagery of love, in really heightened language love seems to be a refuge. So If I'm reading this right - the wolves are predatory would-be lovers disguised as nice people. Since there's nothing to build on there, the speaker takes refuge in her vision of true love which does NOT seem to be a part of the real world (the wolves control it) but it looms over that false world, perhaps with a promise as yet unfulfilled.
A thoughtful poem.
