A well deserved selection as members' poem of the day. Congrats.
A good smell of happiness blows with simple, soft and lucid words. Thanks for posting.
Congratulations for poem of the day Tom.. Nice imagery and a lovely little fairy
The echoes from Browning, Wordsworth and Shelley are subtle but unmistakable. The lovely lady is elusive and she meant very much to this poet.
Wow! Nice story shared, congrats. and thanks for sharing the poem with us
I enjoyed the classic imagery throughout... Congratulations on member poem of the day...
My heart is like a singing bird Come live with me and be my love Wilt thou never come again.... //.... A poem of love and longing is nicely articulated but the prospects of meeting the beloved are remote which makes it a poignant narrative. May be I have strayed altogether.
Amazing piece of poem, so melancholic in its core, loved it. Thanks for sharing this lovely poem and for being selected POTD.
A lovely reminiscing with a touch of fantastical magic Tom. There is so much to absorb in this melancholic write perhaps the bones lay with this reflection: 'When I was one and twenty Love bade me welcome Yet my soul drew back Oh mistress mine where are you roaming? Much enjoyed your creative write. Congratulations Tom...10+
Congratulations Tom for your lovely poem and being the poet of the day. My heart is like a singing bird Cupid and my campaspe play'd For a day and a night, love sang to us, played with us How do I love thee let me count the ways. Enjoyed reading the poem.
Oh mistress mine where are you roaming? Earth has nothing anything to show more fair Go lovely Rose Gather ye rosebuds while ye may Oh sing unto my roundelay Wilt thou never come again Life and thought have gone away The embers of the day are red - - - - - -Nostalgic memories of sweet love evoked - - - -The embers remain - - -A lovely write, thanks for sharing.

What a super write! congrtulations on being selected poem of the day- There is a sadness to this that is entrenched in the use of your words but withough beng maudlin..a very compelling read! Thank you so much for sharing
Great write sir. Thanks and congratulations for being selected as the poem of the day.
Not my cup of tea But so joyfully I rejoice with thee For Ceremony Tom, congratulations for Poem Of The Day!
Thanks Richard for the above comment maybe the tea was coloured sober grey?
These lines I enjoyed: "I remember I remember Riding adown the country lanes When early morn walks forth in sober grey" Tom, alas, most/much of the poem was unclear to me. Good luck with this new PH format. Pelicans? ? ? Bri ;)
