These lines I enjoyed: "I remember I remember Riding adown the country lanes When early morn walks forth in sober grey" Tom, alas, most/much of the poem was unclear to me. Good luck with this new PH format. Pelicans? ? ? Bri ;)

The echoes from Browning, Wordsworth and Shelley are subtle but unmistakable. The lovely lady is elusive and she meant very much to this poet.

My heart is like a singing bird Come live with me and be my love Wilt thou never come again.... //.... A poem of love and longing is nicely articulated but the prospects of meeting the beloved are remote which makes it a poignant narrative. May be I have strayed altogether.

A lovely reminiscing with a touch of fantastical magic Tom. There is so much to absorb in this melancholic write perhaps the bones lay with this reflection: 'When I was one and twenty Love bade me welcome Yet my soul drew back Oh mistress mine where are you roaming? Much enjoyed your creative write. Congratulations Tom...10+
