Without A Woman Poem by Randy McClave

Without A Woman

I would rather be all alone
Like the moon in a starless night,
Than to ever be with an evil woman
Full of hatefulness and spite.

I would rather be a falling star
That God has expelled from the sky,
Than to ever be with a lying woman again
Just for wants and a reason to satisfy.

I would rather be like the night
Where I am not seen, but maybe heard,
Than to be with a cheating woman
Life is too short, but not absurd.

I would rather be in the middle of the ocean
Alone and abandoned on a raft
Than to be used and tricked by a woman
And then lied to and given the shaft.

I would rather live alone as a recluse
Than to live my life in doubt
Wondering daily if she's trustworthy and good
And if she is caring and devout.

So, here I sit as I worry and I ponder
I guess the next step will be all mine
Do I want to be alone happy and free
Or do I take her out to dine.
