We haven't spoken in a while - I know.
But I believe you live in light, free from sorrow.
Maybe you've forgotten all our dramas,
Our path - like a film with no final scene.
Wherever you are - may it be calm,
Without pain, without darkness, with love that's warm.
But for me, it's hard. I keep thinking again:
You were my joy - and my sorrow the same.
You were my faith, my hope, my ground,
Like a stone from Jehovah - alive and profound.
You have a soul - it's not just a phrase.
Your image still fills my most sacred page.
No comedy, no drama - I love you once more.
I loved you like America loves liberty,
I love you like Ukraine loves its freedom.
My world without you - a dead, salted sea:
Where cliffs are made of eternal grief,
Where skies are woven from personal pain.
I held back my damn tears on a hook,
But today - let them fall in the frost again.
My words will be simple and true:
I once loved you.
I still do.
Forever. You are within me.
