with a weak wink when one is afraid where eyes may feel blurred yet hands may move with powerful ink and not allow eyes to blink........touching expression with lofty theme. Beautiful poem.

I thought in the context of your poem about birds, you are referring to their wings which enable them to fly.Wink refers to ophthalmological action, I presume!
