Wishful Illusion Poem by Tejeswar Patnaik

Wishful Illusion

When I was asleep,
Child hood memories crept in,
As I entered a realm of fantasy,
where childhood's joy was reborn.
Hopping and jumping,
with wild freedom, untethered and free.
Where smiles so vibrant stretched across the land,
Where we all sang and jumped into ecstasy,
Where joy and laughter flew in abundance,
And I felt freedom unlimited.

But suddenly I woke up from the deep slumber,
And realized it was just a wishful illusion.
Yet, the memory remains, a bittersweet refrain.
