Daniel Brick is a gift blessing inspiring with astute insight, if I were a wiser man I would read every comment Daniel writes, I will post a poem on this...

This poem is made up three sharp images (noun phrases) inked by two verbs, one indicating sight - etched - the other hearing - echoed. The poem is further unified by the similarity in sound of etched/echoed. Of the three images/noun phrases I think focused lens represents the poet's enhanced ability to see (Rimbaud said poets were seers!) and what he sees goes mysteriously from his mind into that of the reader/hearer. What is transferred are wisdom's shadows and mirror images. Shadows are created by an operation of light; if we follow a shadow it should lead us to its light source which will shine on us; and mirrors will multiply the light to a radiance of being. And so poet and reader become creatures of light or radiant beings!

This is definitely one of the most concise reviews of one of my poems I have ever read and yet this is typical of Daniel Brick. A wonderful analysis. Yes also very astute. I had forgotten I had written this series of poems. Often I write or a meditative state or automatic writing, often from the first word to the last without consciously thinking or having any idea where the poem is going. A poet friend claims this is impossible, but with the exception of documentary style poems and a few other types, it seems the majority of my poems predominantly write themselves when I am buzzing, a natural high. In summary I write with energy almost exclusively or do not write. This process leaves quite a few unfinished poems and sadly several accidently deleted poems when I tire and hit the wrong button but it is my usual most productive poetry writing process.
