Winter's Leaf Turns-2016 Comments

Rating: 5.0

Winter Solstice,2016

How many times have new seasons of experience come and gone with no notice? Winter solstice; 2: 41 a.m. here in the Pacific Northwest. Vulnerable moment's leaf will turn into the first winter's step. In night slumber while our souls dream who will take notice? I suppose for some, celebrating will be the signal, for we do not simply rejoice far often enough.
One more winter, one more year passing; if we ignore the minutes will they flee more quickly, more slowly? Look forward; when did we stop? Children know how to anticipate the future in wild abandon, giddiness of spirit; a trembling joy just to be alive.

In this hectic life, we have so many things to do, so much love to give and duties to fulfill. But we know those moments when they come along, rarely, when we feel at peace with ourselves, our loved ones and the world and they make all the other times worthwhile. One more winter, as you say, each successive one becomes more special as we get older. Thanks for your poem.

I like your style- -it's like I'm hooked up to your mind listening to the musings of your mind. Word choice is excellent, unique take on the topic, and all-around charm. 10+++++++++

Susan Williams, Interesting how we just live and really do not bask in it's reality at times. That is the feeling I had when this one was expressed. I have edited it but have not done so here just yet. Well here we are in a new step....Christmas is soon to be upon us. Bless you fellow traveler of earth and keep up the good work and live well. Kathy

Dan Reynolds, I will have to remember what you just said here; acceptance and peace, for they really do go together. Coming to this state of mind is such a wonderful thing. It does happen sometimes but mostly is a choice, one which takes work actually. Thanks for your comment, it is neat to see the feelings we all share in common and even different on any given subject. Blessings to you sir. Kathy
