Winning The Battle Within Poem by Subhojit Kar

Winning The Battle Within

Thought-Mirages fly
Streaking across the Mind-Sky
Razing down to dust
The skyscrapers of lust.

Logic Tomahawks cruise in
Onto the Moonbeam target
Destroying the dream castle of infatuation
There'll be no more intoxication by claret.

The obsolete, messy Scuds
Launched from luring eye-platforms
Are intercepted and destroyed
Mid-air by Heartland Patriots.

The Wild Weasels and Tornadoes
Carrying payloads of dignity and self-respect
Impound the bastions of pining pathos
The battle within is over before it's too late.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Another of those ditties written almost a quarter of a century back when I was in the throes of unrequited love.
