Winning Poem by Deidre Dixon

It may not look like it at the moment, but we are winning.

This was established during creation right at the beginning.

You can't focus on what you see or the way things are now.

You can't focus on the when, the where, the what or the how.

The Bible tells us clearly that in this life, we shall endure tribulation.

Everything could be peaches and cream today, then tomorrow you can find yourself in diverse situations.

You've got to know that you are winning even though, right now, it doesn't look like much.

You've got to treat winning like it is a tangible thing that you can reach out and touch.

You might be saying, "How can you be so sure of this without a doubt? "

Our earnest expectations are sure with The One I'm talking about.

His plan from the time He gave us dominion has always been for us to win.

His thoughts towards us are thoughts of peace, and not of evil, so we have an expected end.

This doesn't mean that you don't have a part in your own success.

Trust and believe that you are winning, but you can't sit on your loins and expect to be blessed.

You see, the Word of God declares that faith without works is dead.

I know it would be much easier if God handed you everything on a silver platter instead.

First, you need to fully understand what winning means.

It has nothing to do with all of this stuff that can be seen.

When one says that someone is winning, or eluding to a person's perceived success or upper echelon status,

They are usually referring to the money they make, what they're driving, where they live and sometimes what they've received post gratis

A word of wisdom to you regarding looking at others lives….

You don't know what they've been through, how hard they had to work, or if perhaps they connived.

It's not about what others have, what they do or how people seemingly get away with murder.

You've got to get the right mindset about what winning is so that you can focus on the goal with fervor.

The goal can't be about gaining material things, being with the in-crowd or fortune or fame.

Use your identified purpose to make an impact that brings glory to the King's name.

You've got to use your assignment to show the light to those who do not have that relation.

Let your light shine for all to see so that believers are reminded and non-believers can receive salvation.

You've got to allow your relationship to develop your character and change, in you, those things that need to be reordered.

As you pursue your destiny, your character is extremely valuable and cannot afford to be mediocre.

While you are being molded as a piece of clay on The Potter's wheel,

Understand that you are winning through the different turns life takes, no matter how it feels.

God knows the best times to show us glimpses along our journey of where He is taking us.

In His sovereign wisdom, He knows that we would lose our minds if we knew more, and that's a fact you can trust.

As you strive to prosper and be in good health as your soul prospers too,

You should also strive to honor God as you do to others as you want them to do to you.

We should cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in ourselves each and every day.

You couldn't possibly think that you are winning when you carry yourself the wrong way.

There is not one of us who is a believer who is perfect; not a single one.

Perfection is not what God is looking for, ‘cause if that were the case, the work of the Cross would not have been done.

God is pleased with our faith, our trust in Him; He's made provision for our sinning.

When you follow God's voice and put your unwavering trust in Him, it is then you can say you are winning!
