Once again she looked at her expanding waistline And felt the pulse of life beating within It sent a lightning of terror through her The chapters of her life flipped past her eyes With several scenes reeling one by one.....so touching. Visited this poem once again for it's special attraction.

This is how great poetry works. You can read and see at the same time a beautiful and poignant love story in just few lines. The superb imagery made the reader a witness of this betrayal. Beautifully written.10+++ Onto my Poem List.

An excellent write. Powerful, poignant and moving love.story. A vivid depiction of a man with pretenses and false promises played.the deepest emotions of a woman. A great and gripping portrayal of a woman succumbed to false promises in the name of love. Betrayal has been powerfully crafted and depicted.

A poignant write. A lot of girls can relate to it for they have been betrayed in the name of love. You capture the pain n agony of the poor girl very well n the use of language n expression is as always a pleasure to read. A soul-stirring narrative poem. To see life through another's lenses is a writer's great feat.

Everything happens for a reason though. Who knows that child become someone of great importance one day. None of our stories are ever perfect but that's what makes us stronger. Anyhow, great write as always. I love the imagery here as well, especially in the opening of the poem.

This is so saddening, to be drowned while diving for pearls. It's a scary thing too, to go after what you want - to risk security for dreams. Still, I would say to the young lady, it is not your shame to bear alone; he is the one who should be ashamed for procreating and leaving a child fatherless.

Hi, Valsa! I read the poem before reading your notes, liked the phrase big bellied clouds when I read it, and like it more having read the whole poem. I’m reminded in the story how selfish and stupid we men can be—as I was as a young man. -Glen

Beautifully written with great sensitivity and understanding of a girl left pregnant and left betrayed by a man she loved and her future is bleak because of the stigma of a child born out of wedlock, it is a sad reflection on society that the girl and child are ostracized and her lover is free to get on with his life! So sad and thought provoking!

Vacantly staring into the night sky She saw big bellied clouds drifting away Are they fleeing away from the luminous moon? Or mercilessly driven out After being robbed off everything? A very powerful opening stanza of a great touching poem.

She still has to go miles and miles for the sake of a sinless human growing inside, a pathetic deportment, hard to endure! Yes, it’s another scarlet letter! Ahh… the dead albatross is hung around her neck! You have taken a burning theme that is happening in many places all around unnoticed! Extremely well penned, the photography perfectly synchronizes the theme! Your poem ‘Wingless’ is critically appreciated……10

In what depth you have assimilated the pain and frustration of a young girl placed in such a helpless situation. This is not a stray incident. As you say, it happens all around us. Young girls like fireflies are lured by the sugared words of crafty men and get burnt! Love your critique and thanks lot for taking the time off to read and comment!

A poignant piece of poetry! From top to bottom there are loads of effervescent emotions coagulated with a sea of annoyance of being cheated…. You are my sky….The ascending star of my soul in the dawn and the bough of my homing at night were all a counterfeit commitment (? ? ?) that she could realized when she got a curt message from him (fifth stanza) …(cont..)

A stigma it will never be There’s always love for a baby Though the father had gone astray A mother’s love will save the day In time she will learn to move on And all the pain will soon be gone Thank you my friend for this touching read
