Windchimes In Two Movements Poem by Grant House

Windchimes In Two Movements

Who animates the windchime
Who plays that instrument so dear
Who brings us this delightful sound
Magical mystical music reminding us
Home is very near

How could those notes be written
A wayward tune and how
One measure never like another
Impossibly improvised windchime concerto
Written in the key of now

***

Some say they're riotous
I say without them there's a void
Some never hear them
Others are annoyed

Some hear calamity
I think that they are glorious
Windy nights I take them down
My neighbors are notorious

Now I Iet them ring all night
High wind down the mountain
Gurgle gurgle drip drip drip
My neighbor has a fountain
