Wind And Dust Poem by William Kofoed

Wind And Dust

The wind blows across the land

fast and hard raising dust

carried with it does go

driving dust everywhere

cracks are filled with it

where falling rain does flow

dust and rain mixing there

filling the cracks where they lay

cold wind blows across the land

taking with it all the warmth

from the mix in the crack

freezing it to ice

the ice there does expand

there within the crack

growing forcing it to open

larger crack within the rock

new dust does then fall

from the enlarging crack

into the blowing wind

carried then across the land
