A shoulder to cry on,
Someone to care.
Someone to rejoice with,
A laugh that's shared.
A second opinion
When something's not clear.
And when you are downcast,
Someone who brings cheer.
A chance to be real, when
The world wears a mask.
When burdens are heavy,
One who shares the task.
For times when you're lonely,
Someone who'll be near.
When you need a listen,
Someone who will hear.
That one-in-a-million
You trust your heart to.
Afaithful companion
Who'll always be true.
In East, it is said that one is sigle (I) but two are eleven (II) . Thanks.
Jazib, I LOVE it! haha! In the West, those are called Roman Numerals, and ll is still 2! Thanks for commenting!
Very well expressed. It is a shame that this is so rarely achieved.
Thank you, Barry. From one of your most adoring fans, to one of my favourite member/commenters! I surprised myself when I wrote this one. I thought, Where did THIS come from? Like I said in my poet notes/backstory, I believe that it is an ideal. I see no reason why good, committed friends can't practice doing some of these things for each other. And as far as lovers and partners, it should be a given! I wish you smiles, peace, joy, comfort, and every good thing today! :)

What lovely words and sentiments - love it
Hello, Alison! Good to hear from you! Glad you enjoyed this- - I had fun writing it, and it turned out neither too melodramatic or syrupy, but just right. Your Treasure Island points have been skyrocketing! Hope you are keeping well! :)
