Why I Was Born Poem by Randy McClave

Why I Was Born

Rating: 5.0

I was from drugs and temptation
And also from anger and frustration,
I was from dares and also a weakness
And also from pressure and a meekness.
I was from loneliness and also fright
And also by a mistake or a fight,
I was from hate and also force
And also from love and sadness and remorse.
I am from a dream and also a need
And also from a urge that was a sinful deed,
I am from lies, and drinking and scorn
Then I was born.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The other night I read a story (a common one)of a woman getting pregnant from a rape, then I thought of women getting pregnant, because of other reasons. Then I thought of a person who is questioning all, "Why Was I Born! ". I wrote this poems as if a child(s)was saying why he/ she was created.

Beautiful and bold as well, all possible reasons birth takes place not out of love. And written well, I must say.

Wonderful perception. A child was born after his mother's raping by a man who was on drugs and temptation. You have so beautifully begun the poem like...I was from drugs and temptation / And also from anger and frustration, / I was from dares and also a weakness / And also from pressure and a meekness...... Fantastic really. A sensitive poem is astutely delineated. Thank you a lot dear Randy sir for sharing this gem.10
