I like the way your two approaches to love dovetail and each one supports the other, giving them equality, affirming both are necessary. These are levels of love, an abstract love of every human being because of our common humanity; and what shades into romantic love which is the private choice of a single human being as worthy of special praise, fidelity, tenderness.
