Why Do I Care? Poem by abu tarek md tahsin

Why Do I Care?

Today they are back again
Today as I drink coffee
The old beggar is outside the window
Begging from passersby

But Cinderella cannot see
She is a socialite
Gossiping with me!

While the blind politician is preaching religion
On bright television screens
And wherever you go
His 15% value added taxes would follow!

But I am no innocent preacher
I am a victim of circumstances
Just like the ordinary Joe

But why do I care?
I have to pay my 15% value added taxes
It's better I enjoy the coffee
As long as it lasts.
