Why Did I Doubt? Poem by john (called jack) wren

Why Did I Doubt?

Why has God's Creation lost Her frown?
Why is everything happy and I'm down?
The birds are singing so sweetly today
Lambs filled with joy romp and play.

Don't they know Our Lord has gone!

Why, even the sun feels kinder
And the air smells so fresh,
The wind has a smile on its face
The rain stays wrapped in mesh
.

Don't they know Our Lord has gone!

Then my weary eyes rest on the tomb
And rejoice for He has left its womb,

Why did I doubt His precious Word?

But then, I'm me
And not a bird.
