Even the great poet Edwards complained about it

We are not bound by any rules of English usage. We speak, write or read it as we please. Let Bri come and correct our usage, spelling and grammar. That will keep him at safe distance from his wife, maybe.😀🤣🥲
It will take Bri some months to see your comment. He is offline right now and the wife will always take the blame for it. Lol
Most of us here, except for our wordophile Bri, are from non-English-speaking countries. So, I believe all those stupid rules of English are not for us. We are not bound by them. (Contd)
Bri Edwards 07 September 2023 Does Donald Trump KNOW 100 English words? ? : ))))) … Maybe not, Bri. But he knows all the words of abuse and vulgarity. That is enough, I think
Why couldn't English be easy? English is wonderful language that is the only medium through which we ensure global communication bypassing rules of Grammar.
Perhaps English is getting simpler with the advent of computer and mobile. We don't have to type 'YOU' and instead use 'U' .'D' takes place of 'The'.Will it be easier or more complicated, the time will say.
(Part-2) In English we call 'Uncle' to father's brother, mother's brother, to father's cousin or mother's cousin. But we have separate words for these relations. We call 'Mamu' to mother's brother and 'Badabapa' to father's elder brother and 'Dada' to father's younger brother.
English is my second language and the same question arose when I was learning it as a child.I think English is far more easy than my own language-Odia.
Thank you for your comments Nayak. You were lucky to learn English as a kid. I am an struggling with it daily. Haha
Well, PH says that I DID vote already. Hell, I'll send it to my favorites today. YOU sent me a message (I think about this poem) saying you 'personified' the word 'Love'; maybe you meant the word 'English'? ?
Great! Thank you. 'Love' is personified in ''I Praise Your Bitterness''.
Some people have an aptitude for learning languages; I DON'T! Though the poem is not completely understood by me (not because of the language) , I give it five stars [if I haven't voted already].
The 'bottom line' is that learning a language, whether Latin, Mandarin, Arabic, or English is probably best done while growing up from infancy to adulthood, surrounded by speakers of the language! !
I laughed (a LITTLE) the second time I read: 'I'm scared and muzzled I don't know how to address my son And the outside world tomorrow' bri
IF YOUR story about 'your kids'? ? is true, I say the teacher is perhaps a hazard to students! ! ! : ) bri
John Cena, a professional wrestler, actor, and bodybuilder (among other things) has a very interesting Wikipedia article about him. But I found no 'clue'. : (
Whenever John Cena comes on stage, he says 'you can't see me'. So metaphorically, John Cena here stands for 'you can't see me/ invisibility.'
Koffi, I read 'Their teacher told them that he and she are John Cena in a person' and Googled him, looking for a clue as to why 'he' is in your poem.
Kingsley, My teacher once asked me to spell 'THEIR' and I took it for 'THERE' and he said I was wrong. Hum!
'Edwards' refers to you in the poem. But the 'I' in the poem is not me the writer. Please don't let English sue him; he is innocent. haha
'Why Couldn't English be Easy' is a poem open to different interpretations and I do want to give that freedom to the reader to come up with their own interpretations.
I don't like taking a position as a writer anytime I publish a poem. Every piece of art speaks to us differently depending on the background of the reader. For me, stating your position as a writer narrows the reader's mind and prevents him from seeing it differently.
