No, Miss Celebrity, you wouldn't remember me- -I am the helper bee you stepped on - - I am the old friend who helped you get an audition before you crawled over top of me on that ladder to success- - I am the mother so grey and worn and unattractive who worked three jobs so you could go to college and make influential friends- - sometimes celebrity makes people become overwhelmed by their sense of importance- - - top marks, Mj! ! ! !

Thank you, Susan. And absolutely! How is it that fame or celebrity is that ingredient that can create a whole new person? And it usually represents a new version that is in no way improved.

M.J., some of us are walking around and are recognizable to the general public even without our knowledge. I shared the story with you through an email because PH wouldn't allow it in this space. That's unfortunate because I think that your readers would appreciate it.

Richard, I am still floored. That was an absolutely amazing story. And you did deserve that recognition. Thanks for sharing.

A puzzle like poem to me, this one. I can think like, .. Celebrities are so many in numbers that I used to forget them by their field or profession or the reason why one is famous if I come across. .. Or I don't know any celebrity as a person, I can just recognize the face. But I say know one. Dear, this puzzle is the delivery and beauty this piece.

A short and impressive picture has been astutely given on celebrity through question tag. Beautiful Senryu. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting topic, to me Celebrities are just modern day secular deities fabricated to give people a false sense of meaning to their everyday lives. The lives they watch are never really those lives lived, just those imagined to the worshipers mind, like a god they are something to look up too. Still a celebrity is a human being, they have lived a long life until at some point they became famous at which point their life is invented by the public. We act like we know them but we never do.

Fascinating observation, Kevin. Sure, people behind celebrity are human beings. But is the facade of celebrity actually human.? If the idea is to turn celebrities into deities, I would suppose there is an element to the ideal of celebrity that is meant to transcend the qualities of 'human' or 'humanity'. How we love the gods to commune with us? ? Tremendous observation, Kevin. Thanks for reading.

I could be wrong, but my interpretation/take on this, is that someone approaches a celebrity (simply because of the celebrity's status and fame) , and the celebrity wants to know 'How do I know you? ' But it was not from a long time ago. This person would never have gushed over the celebrity, were he not a celebrity.

That is a great interpretation, Poetess. I happened to be reading Warhol and something connected with his observation about 15 minutes of fame. Perhaps we all, consciously or otherwise, seek some sort of celebrity....for 15 minutes. But I think even Andy could not have seen a world in which celebrity is defined as a leading occupation. Thank you so much.

Being famous among our beloved people around us is nice, but to be famous to every eyes that watching, that would be difficult because the sight is mostly judgmental, bringing boundary that feel like fixed in the space, and identity is like nothing else but a display to talk about. Celebrity famous because of people nature to observe people they frequently see...to me u are famous as a friend, true identity by conversation, thoughts and soul as u willing to share it.

A great sentiment, Soul. I hope it begins to grow in our 'celebrity culture.' Thanks for reading.
