Why should I forbear to dance,
because you have no joy?
Should I sit and mope the day away,
in sympathy for your gloom?
Your fear of me is groundless,
I have made no demands of you.
You've brought joy to my heart,
However brief it proves;
Fondly I'll recall the dance
but morn not if their be no more.
