Who I Am Poem by Randy McClave

Who I Am

When I needed support
You gave it to me,
Not once did you ever abort
You gave me the strength of an oak tree.
Never was I ever alone
Because, every time that I had cried,
You had heard my moan
Then you were always there at my side.
When I felt worthless
You treated me like a precious gem,
You made me feel better I do confess
And never not once did you ever condemn.
When I wanted to judge and hate
You told me that I should never do,
You said I should never hinder my own fate
With a hostility that had grew.
When I was alone and lost
Me, you had found,
All my worries you then tossed
Because of you I made a complete turnaround.
When I started to write
No one believed that I could do it,
Then my words you began to recite
Then I decided not to quit.
You alone gave me true love
And for me you gave a damn,
I'm no longer who I was
But, because of you I'm now who I am.
