are you talking of Dr. Who? or did you just not have any question marks in your poetic bag when you wrote this? (i forgot to use the? myself before proofreading my second question!) a few 'errors', maybe, but i get the picture! favorite lines: Who doesn't want that someone to love and understand who doesn't want to been shown love without them needing to be told..................................... ................................................................ .............................................. 'of course' the first two lines in this stanza could have two similar meanings: 1- Who could be the giver of love and understanding, OR 2- Who could be the receiver of love and understanding. yeah, i 'hate it' when i HAVE TO prompt my mate to love me. she forgets sometimes i guess. could it have to do with my yelling and the girls i bring home? bri :)

We all want this dear Annette, to love...to understand...to look into green eyes and make a connection, to embrace commitment and to swim together in the deep, we want this and we need it, your poetry is so very appealing and attractive as well, as Susan said...very well written!

this poem isn't a challenge to find a person who doesn't want. beautiful poem. these urges and wishes show us alive. without them what is life!

Such yearning in this piece, and it expresses the yearning of so many people, too many people, leading lonely, faces-pressed-against-the-windows lives. Sometimes a touch of a stranger's hand on our own hand, or an understanding meeting of the eyes, can help a person get through the stark loneliness of a sad sad day. Very well written, Annette. 10+++++++++++++

I've been away for a bit, and the interesting thing is that I was contemplating this very thing on my way into work this morning. It is a physical need to be loved. To be held by someone who knows us-the good, the bad, the ugly-and still chooses to hold us in their hearts and in their arms. This is a beautiful piece, Annette, honest and deep. Thank you. ;) S
