Between Barabbas and Christ
Who are you?
We all claimed to be the saint
And paint our leaders the devils
Who stole the meat from the pot?
Is it religion or politics?
Who truly are the corrupt culprits?
We all pointed fingers at our politicians
Religious leaders and military men
When with a better lense I searched
And delve into critical investigations
I found in every Man's teeth
Some rotten hanging meats
Yesterday a young lady was killed
Stoned, beaten and burnt for blasphemy
Heard it was done by a crowd of men
dimwits beautified by the name mob
I watched again their faces carefully
And inquire of each man's occupation
To my surprise in that crowd of sinners
There was not a single politician
Military men nor religious clerics
It wasn't police brutality this time
Nor their careless gun, friends only to bribe
It's wasn't the soldier's bloody dance
of the python nor smile of the crocodile
It was Man's inhumanity to Mankind
Forget not that every citizen has a role
To play in this continuous drama
Just as every ingredients add taste to the soup
That little pinch of salt we've ignored
Have made our soup tasteless
Again I question my countrymen
Between Barabbas and Christ
Who are you?
Are you the sinful savior
or that righteous thief
