Gene this is a lovely piece but I have to say that it would work much better (IMHO) as a sonnet. This can easily be achieved by doing away with the opening line and the final stanza. It is superfluous that these are here, I am sure that you and your readers could follow this without the 'explanations' of the partys that I have pointed out.
