School going, too young to write about cutting oneself.. I hope the pain and confusions portrayed in this poem are a thing of the past and you are healed and happier now.. thanks for sharing

I have just finished reading all thirteen of Megan's poems. Most of them deal with depression, self-mutilation, and suicide. She has not submitted anything to this website since 2006. That's nine years ago. Megan, I sincerely hope that you are still around and much happier than when you wrote these poems. Suicide is never the answer.

Life's realities can sometimes destabilize our existence and jolt our sensibilities. The situation has been illustrated very wisely in the poem. This is only the beginning and not the end. be confident: Gambling my life / With every roll of the dice / My mind is free to be / Who I want to be.
