Very true about the whistling :) I used to be soothed by the sound of whistling when I was a little girl...it felt so friendly and reassuring. Yep, good poem and its brought back a few memories :)

I can't whistle myself John, but you are right, one never hears it these days - probably because everyone has a mobile phone or an iPod stuck their ears! ! Love the poem, great.
