When I reached William Shakespeare's house,
as the fulfilment of my childhood dream,
I was amazed.
There, in the courtyard,
I saw the statue of Rabindranath Tagore.
I recollected his verses, such as
Where the mind is without fear,
Where the head is held high,
and The mystic touch of Tagore's verses
blends with the deep insight of Shakespeare's
works, I experienced,
with the bliss unbound, and my heart touched
the universal soul beyond the narrow domestic walls
and beyond the uncertainties and negative thoughts
of earthly life,
the beauty of life in the beauty of literature.
