Whispers of memories

In an empty room, a thirsty throat wants to drink something,
But still, there's nothing, despite everything.
Coupled eyes want to see joy's light,
But someone bound it tight.

In loneliness, I wander wide,
Thinking what has been left behind.
Fleeting dream! Laughter memories,
A steady stream, under blue skies.

A whispered promise, in a simple voice,
Reveals the mistake of my choice.
My heart wants to hug what I have lost,
The joy of love comes at a cost.
