Whisper of Love
(a poem by Shakil Ahmed)
Touch me with the glow of your smile,
Standing on the shore of the dancing river.
Cast a glance on my sobbing eyes,
I swear,I will be a promising bard
Of robust spring and soothing nature.
Fill my heart with the aroma of
Your hallowed and fragrant limbs
That will burn and raze all my torments
Congealed through the passage of centuries
Make me a part of your redolent dream,
Enthralling my bereft and moaning heart.
Standing on the edge of your dream world,
I will chant the sweetest symphony,
Stirring the silent and dreaming world.
A soothing whisper from your amorous heart
Will silence all my screams of agony
Pulping moisture of love on my lips
Your lisping words tinged with love
Will widen my denuded and bleeding bosom
Terrible,haunting nights of nightmares
Will turn into a wistful nostalgia.
My dejected soul and desolate eyes
Will paint a portrait of my joyous self
In the embracing moments of new sunrise.
