Where You Have Gone, Krishna? Poem by Kishore Kumar Das

Where You Have Gone, Krishna?

Rating: 5.0

A quiet afternoon of august,2014
the train reached Kurukhetra
I got down
Lord Krishna welcomed me
from the waiting hall
the wall paintings of Lord Krishna mesmerized me...
His charishma
His efforts to prevent
the great war of Mahabharat
depicted in the lively paintings
enthralled me...
I returned from Kurukhetra the same day
in the hope that
someday I visit this place.
Four years later...
a rainy day of July,2018
my train stopped at Kurukhetra
as I got down
I searched every nook and corner
His paintings not there
I was upset
where you have gone, Krishna...
I stared at the sky
raindrops falling
streets filled with water
where am I searching Krishna?
He is in the soil
He is in the sky
He is in the water
He is the rain welcoming me
He is the sky watching me
He is the consciousness
this was the pious thought
at the sacred place
I could not think beyond this.

Wonderfully portrayed- the divine halo- 'Lord Krishna mesmerized me...' Kurukshetra has it in its soil. Thanks, Kishore.
