When I went to church today
As I went to listen to our Pastor Pete preach then pray,
And then we followed Richard as he leads a hymn
And singing along is everyone, including Kim.
But, when I looked upon the screen for a prayer
I looked upon the screen and none was there,
There was no words or lyrics on the projection screen
None there at all to be seen.
There was no birthday or anniversary announcements as well
So, no one's birthdays or anniversaries could we tell,
Now Peggy is playing the notes to the hymns on the piano
Music from her fingertips just flow.
Now we strained our eyes to find the words in the hymn book
Finding our glasses straining our eyes just to look,
Hope who is behind me asks what page is the hymn on
Because, now the words on the screen is now gone.
Bryan who stands beside me is singing words he's made up
Because, he doesn't have his glasses and the screen is as white as a cup,
Now my mind is going through a truthful conclusion
Reading and singing the words on the screen was a wonderful illusion.
So, now we sit on the pews as the Pastor preaches
With no verses on the projection screen as he teaches,
To my left and right and to the front and behind I looked to see
I then think and wondered to myself, where is the projectionist Bambi.
