The sky is velvety blue
as I gaze at the stars above.
Walking through the forest
leaving a trail of my steps behind,
covered silently by fallen leaves.
The trees sway gently with the calm breeze,
and a deer jumps gracefully by.
Alone in my thoughts,
wishing you were here.
Where are you?
Seek and you shall find
as the saying goes.
But you are never to be found.
Not to be seen in the golden fields.
Not to be seen on the stoney road.
Not to be seen in the starry sky.
You are where you have always been,
in my heart.
You have been there from the start.
Locked in my soul never to be released,
except on nights like this when I can think alone
and only of you.
