You are right, our future generation may see them in the pictures as we see the dinosaurs in skeletons.. I like this poem.

A really beautiful and thoughtful poem. Our children will miss out on so much because of the state of our world. And may i say thankyou very much for your comments about me as a poet. I am the same as you, i like to read a poem and enjoy and understand what i'm reading.
They come out here in July, and sometimes the cornfields just seem ablaze with them. It would be a sad sort of affairs should they suddenly fade away. I remember catching them as a kid and filling glass jars with them, for one reason or other. This really is a wonderful write, expressive and well planned and with purpose. Much enjoyed.
