When You Think Of Me Poem by Matt Render

When You Think Of Me

And when you think of me remember

There is no love and never was
That only the seeds of hatred and disgust
Could breed inside this blood

And when your head begins to swim
In the pools of moments shared
Keep this thought close to you heart
I could have never really cared

If you ever start to wonder
About the lies I used to tell
You'll find just a hollow shell
That never lived and never felt

And crossing that great bridge
Into vacant holes unlit
You'll see I hadn't ever lived
And I had no more to give.

In those quiet staring spaces
Where the darkness soothes the burn
The truth becomes clear
That I was never there
