When you're in the world
And you're all backslid
There's a wall you won't
get through
When you're in the world
And you hit that wall
You also
hit the floor
You've run so far from
Father's house
It's a distant memory
But somewhere in the recess
Of exhausted mind
and soul
Is a picture
of the family home
where you once were
warm and whole
The Prodigal turned back
To seek his father's house
Turn back! He stands
With open arms
His lost ones to receive.
Turn back! He'll throw
A party
for you when you believe
That He is faithful
to forgive
When you turn away
from sin
He'll take you gladly in His arms
And gently draw you in
And cleanse you
And forgive you
from unrighteousness
and sin.
Don't listen to the voice
That says you won't get in
That tells you Father can't forgive
Your particular brand of sin
The accuser of the brethren
Is a liar and a thief;
He lies to steal your soul away
And that wonderful thing
Called peace.
The blood of Christ our Saviour
Is sufficient to forgive
Whatever it is that you have done
Just ask Him
And receive.
