When Will Peace Come? Poem by Isadora Quagmire

When Will Peace Come?

Rating: 5.0

When will shadows cease to be?
Why must darkness stain the soul?
I long for a world set free,
Where peace becomes lasting and whole.

The cruel strife, the evil's sting,
A heavy burden on my heart.
For solace, my soul would sing,
And pray the world could have a new start.

I know a day is drawing near,
When Christ will come in majesty.
Upon a white horse, banish fear,
A bloody robe His victory.

With hosts of heaven at His side,
He'll judge the wicked, right the wrong.
His glorious light, far and wide,
His name in every joyful song.

The Prince of Peace, His reign will start,
The earth restored, renewed, and whole.
He will fill every broken heart,
And bring salvation to each elect soul.

No more tears will stain our face,
When Christ appears in bloody robe.
He'll give to us eternal grace,
And Hope that shines across the globe.
