When We Become A Christian Poem by Gary James Smith

When We Become A Christian

Rating: 5.0

When We Become A Christian

When we become a Christian
We never reach perfection
For on this side of Heaven
There's always room for correction
The Holy Spirit indwelling us
To help us gain victory
For our old flesh nature constantly tries
To usurp its authority

The word of God our Anchor
It gives us stabilizing
For when we hide it in our heart's
It trumps the flesh's uprisings
Joy is the believer's production
When we adhere to what God's Wordsays
For obedience is our hallmark of faith
The Lord Jesus has made us glad

What a combination of emotions
To be a sinner saved by grace
To know the depth of God's forgiveness
To know God's amazing grace
My soul it cannot stay silent
No! It must produce some praise!
For the chains of sin no longer hold me
My freedom I enjoy everyday!

So here is my song of freedom
So glad I can have victory
And walk in the glorious light of the Saviour
Who gave of His life for me!
My life and my Salvation
I'm saved by the Crucified One
Forever thankful what He's done for me
Now I must tell everyone!

Have you found the purest joy
That only Heaven can give
For it's only when your sins are forgiven
That brother you can really live
I've found the Rock of Ages...Hallelujah!
It is hidden within my heart
It's my treasure chest of faith
It shall never, never! ...depart! ! ! !

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
