When We Are Gone... Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

When We Are Gone...

Rating: 5.0

When we are gone,
The earth will take over.
With the trees overgrown,
And the weeds are strong,
There will be nothing to destory them.
No axes and chainsaws
They will be left to grow in peace.
And the animals will be reborn,
In populations that will continue.
In a million years
The oceans will be anew.
With reefs forming, the multitiudes of new creatures
Swimming without fear,
The earth will be their common home
Without the chemicals to punish it
When we are gone...
