When The Moment Comes Poem by Gisela Ute Duvel

When The Moment Comes

When the moment comes, I will find the phrase,
A truth that I have kept for endless days.
Neither fear, nor time, will make me pause,
I will tell you everything, without a cause.

I will speak of how your presence feels,
A warmth so steady, so soft, and so real,
How every smile you give away
Turns my world from gray to day.

I will whisper dreams I dare to hold,
Of futures bright and clear, of tales untold,
Of hands entwined, of pure hearts aligned,
A love that time could never bind.

And if you ask, "Why now, not then? "
I will say, "The words were hiding when
I thought love's reach was not for me.
But you have undone that certainty."

So when that moment comes to light,
I will make it yours, the words, the night.
For every star will hear my beautiful vow:
I have loved you then, and I love you now.
