the entire town slept;

Gr8 imagery. The serenity and silence of the early morning hours. Scary and lonely because there are very few people who are awake and at the same time very peaceful. Death described beautifully in the last four lines.10++

'Don't pay the ferryman, until he gets you to the other side.' I think this is an insightful poem about life, and death. Not nice to think about, but its the only certainty we have... I still have so much to learn...

When the next day dawned, my house was draped in mourning..... The essence of these two lines dominates the total writing with the majestic beauty of silence which blot out our existence forever. Imagery like a successful movie by Kurosowa. Tranquil but moving without hampering our attention. Actually you have written silence under a shadow of melancholic trauma. Very powerful the pen, no pain it gives but we feel an end is nearing to a life......10+++++ Regards, pranab
