When The Brightest And Biggest Star Departs Poem by Rose Marie Juan-austin

When The Brightest And Biggest Star Departs

Rating: 4.6

After spreading her gold for the day
In so many directions and ways
The Sun is ready to depart
And rest to give chance to night
When it finally sets above the horizon
Its golden beams create magical color tones
That bring warmth to creation
Inspiring us to look forward to
A beautiful tomorrow.

This short poem speaks of the selfless life of Sun. How he spends his day showering his benevolence (poet says “gold”) on everything. Earth, and of course man, is just one such beneficiary. Then he leaves the scene for the Night-Star to take over. And how is Sun rewarded for his selfless act? The entire universe turns into an ocean of colours to bid him adieu. Naturally. Lovely poem.
