When Stones Sigh Poem by Gordon R Menzies

When Stones Sigh

On the quieter days, the lake
languidly caresses the stone
of Lonely Island like a lover
the hands of a smitten lover, who
moves reverently, disbelieving
the moments fortune, awestruck
I stare like a voyeur, breathless
listening to the stone sighing
