When Silence Is Loud Poem by Monkals Kalu

When Silence Is Loud

Who can tell the story of silence
Better than the one who visits
The graveyard at night?

Tell me,
How loud can
One's silence be
When the storms threaten the sky?

Who can justify
The gains of silence,
Just by seeing a parrot feed?
How can the pantheons dance
When The Almighty's drum beats?

How less fearful can
The winds of turbulence
Sing dirgeful lullaby
To a pregnant Ear

That listens
Only to songs
That swings its pinna,
And inspires hope
When silence is loud?
